Bryan Wilson grew up in a small town outside of Rome, GA where his grandfather taught him about horses while working on their family farm, and his mom taught him about Jesus. While Bryan was away at college, he snagged a part time job with The Home Depot and met his wife, Melissa.
The part time job that Bryan obtained in college turned into 17 successful years with The Home Depot. Their family lived in Tuscaloosa, AL for the majority of their marriage, where Bryan gained experience as a Store Manager and then, a District Merchandising Manager. During this time Bryan and his wife volunteered and led a small group while attending their local church in Tuscaloosa.
It was in Tuscaloosa where Bryan and his wife received the Call for Ministry, and God gave them the direction of a Christian Camp. God connected Bryan and Melissa to Solid Rock Camps via their pastor in Tuscaloosa, and opened the door for them to move to the Camp this year. Bryan is currently the Executive Director of the Camp. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration with a Minor in Christian Studies.
Shaun joined us at Solid Rock in January of 2015. Shaun’s life was radically changed when he encountered the Gospel of Christ at the age of 22. Since that day he has relentlessly pursued opportunities to serve Christ and others. His life mission is to know Christ and make Him known.
Shaun began to volunteer the summer of 2013 and is now the Camp Pastor. Shaun is also the Youth Pastor at Lake Leon Baptist Church, is a leader in Ranger High School FCA and is heavily involved with Special Olympics Texas. He is currently attending online college at Liberty University where he will receive a degree in Biblical & Theological Studies. He has a passion for Christian camping. He surrendered to full time ministry at a church camp and personally knows the value that Christian camping can play in the spiritual formation of believers.
Melissa Wilson grew up in a suburb outside of Atlanta, GA. She met her husband, Bryan, and they later moved to Tuscaloosa, AL with Bryan’s job. While living in Tuscaloosa, Melissa developed a passion for the Alabama Crimson Tide and deepened her love of Christ. She worked at the University of Alabama for approximately 10 years while earning a Master’s in Counselor Education.
She led a Women’s Ministry, while she and Bryan led a small group at their local church. They both found their path in life while serving Christ. In 2014, Bryan and Melissa received the call for Ministry, and 5 months later God gave them the direction of a Christian Camp. God laid the foundation to Solid Rock Camps via their pastor in Tuscaloosa. Together Melissa and Bryan have two young boys and recently adopted a dog from a shelter.
Melissa works in the camp office, and has a passion for organizing Community and Women’s events. Melissa and Bryan are excited to serve God, Solid Rock Camps, and Eastland, TX.
